  • Scahill's awesome, but Ware knows his shit too. At the very least he knows the area's culture/hierarchy structure better than 99% of reporters.

  • Notice the question is "are we safer?", not are Afghans, whose country we are illegally occupying.

  • @joehav0in1

short term, it will keep you safe. long term? not so much.

  • 40 countries vs 1. Afganistan, the home of the brave.

  • I saw a doco on Michael Ware recently and he's not in the best shape, but he's a goer and its interesting to see three very different people and their views air on this show.

I think Blaber and Ware are on the money and I've read Blaber's very fine book but those eyes give him away. He was born to fight and those are the eyes of a killer who's happily seen much combat whereas Ware I feel has been unfortunately negatively affected by seeing too much of the same.

  • Thank you Mr. Scahill. You make me feel proud to be an American.

  • Unfortunately this is (quite literally) the closest thing you're going to find to an honest discussion on CNN.

  • Point 1: In 2001, the Afghan Northern Alliance betrayed US Special Operations Forces, allowing Osama bin Laden to escape into Pakistan (Dalton Fury). AQ does not live in the villages, they live in the mountains. So, let's go get them. Point 2: It must be nice to be a complete coward like Jeremy Scahill. Did this guy turn-in his balls for a "YES WE CAN" t-shirt.

  • Michael Ware is the only "common sense voice" in this whole thing,.

Michael, I am behind you my brother, all the way! Because injustice can be "spinned" to death.

But I am happy to know there are people like you in the world.

    Thank you!

  • These two are both idiotic.

  • Yeah, let's fuel the fire for it to die...war's not big enough!

Let's really Vietnam that thang properly for a few more riches for the stinky rich!

Sure, a hundred thieves will kill 300 millions...

Go on, using military for police work! Taxpayer can afford another 20 years of war, I'm sure! Just ask them...

Right! Let's hit Saudi Arabia, where most of the 9/11 patsies came from!
