A beautiful song that demonstrates the strength of Sineads' voice as well as her capacity to project emotion through a lens. Most unfortunate that vulnerability was later to emerge as hatred, for the church, for Cathololism, as a lack of compassion for the weakness we all have as human beings. They say stardom lifts some people to heights they're not mature enough to manage... she's a good example of that. Gotta thank her for this beautiful rendition though.

The song was written in 1988 for The Family, a funk band side project of Prince's. It did not get much buzz until it was covered in 1990 by Sinéad with this over the top emotion. So it was not made for her, but she made it her own.
