Mike Maunsell - Centre for Biodiversity Tipperary Institute - Interviews John Fogarty a farmer from County Tipperary, Ireland. John participated in pilot programme co-ordinated by Mike Maunsell Lecturer at Tipperary Institute, training farmers in Biodiversity recording on their own land. The aims of the project included breaking down the perceived barriers between scientist and farmers, facilitating greater local level stakeholder involvement in, biodiversity monitoring and recording. Addressing the urgent need to establish base line data for evidence based planning at local level. Meeting Irelands obligation under the Convention on Biological Diversity.
