  • I have heard that there could be as many as 15 to over 600 books that are missing. Now if the Bible is the only thing we need to here the word of God why is there so many books missing? If you are planning a trip I would perfer to bring the whole map not just fragments regardless how much you study the existing map you can`t tell for sure if mainstream Christianity or Mormonism is truly correct.

  • Also the Catholic church removed many verses, chapter, and even whole books that was in the Biblical cannon mainly because the teaching did not agree with the teaching that the Catholic church wanted to teach. Did you know that Adam was not the first man created he was the third. Also Adam had a wife before Eve her name was Lilith. This also explains why the Bible has many lost books we don`t know how many but the Bible is not a complete record.

  • Also I am glad that mainstream Christianity does not consider Mormons Christians. Because Christianity is mainly a break off the Catholic church. If you look back to where the core beliefs of Catholicism started, the church dropped many of its former beliefs practices and doctrines to be more acceptable to pagans. That is why Jesus Christ`s birthday is celebrated on December 25 it is actually a pagan holiday celebrated over a birth of a pagan God of the sun.

  • So what you are saying is that anyone can read Deformed Egyptian. I agree that that is a made up language since that was not the language that Smith said it was in the first place. Maybe if you do some research you might get it right, but that would require you to do some work and we would not want you to dishonor your God over that.

  • And that's all that Mormons have, that small sliver of hope that it's not all bullshit. Unfortunately, there are facts that refute the LDS position on any number of different things. Deformed Egyptian is a silly, made-up language because when you look at it, most of it is just English characters and Arabic numerals. You can then get into the false prophesies of Joseph Smith, entire chunks of doctrine based on Biblical misinterpretations, as well as the falsehoods the church told about polygamy.

  • When you put them all together, you have a a huge problem for the Mormon position, because I'm not sure you're aware that the jesus in Mormonism isn't the Biblical Jesus, and that's enough to make them something other than Christians.

  • @moparmonster1965 there's always the benefit of doubts. There's no evidence to contradict their facts either. It's a cul de sac for both parties. It's either factual based on actual facts rather than fictional facts. And that there is no evidence to counter that. It's their word against others. They believe to have the authority of God to justifiy the Church's acts. The Catholics and Orthodox claim the same. All others don't care. They beleive that being infatuated is enough to be a Christian.

  • In order to do this you must believe and do what Jesus did and taught. For instance many Christians argue that you don`t need to be baptized to be saved. Mormons believe that you do need to be baptized to get into Heaven. I will say this if you call yourself a Christian and have the chance to be baptized that you must do this. If you don`t you can not say that you follow Jesus since he was baptized. You can`t play the game of follow the leader and not follow what the leader does.

  • Jesus once said (notice that I do not refer to Jesus as Christian Jesus) My sheep hear my voice and they follow me. I will not argue that Christians here Jesus`s voice but wether they follow Jesus is where I do question. Many Christian secs believe that by grace you are saved. This part I do agree with that God`s grace is the only way to get saved, however how you get the grace is where I disagree. Mainly because I believe that you must be one of Christ`s sheep in order to get saved.

  • @einc70 There's no part of the Bible that closes the door to further revelation from God; the LDS version of prophets and apostles, however, aren't of God and therefore have no authority to speak for God so their 'revelations' are from somewhere else.
