Tuesday 11th August 2009,docking in Porthcawl Harbour,South Wales,U.K. on an unusually nice SUNNY but breezy day,to travel on to Ilfracombe, and the Exmoor coast.....Balmoral was built in Southhampton in 1949 and operated under the Southhampton Red Funnel Fleet for 20 years. She then moved to the Bristol Channel as part of P&A Campbels White Funnel Fleet, till 1980, when they ceased operating, then moved to Dundee as a floating restaurant. After falling into disrepair she was rescued and restored by the Friends and Supporters of the Waverley, and brought back into service in 1986. Balmorals main summer season is in cruising the Bristol Channel.
