  • I just completed the Closed Captioning for "A Friend Indeed - The Bill Sackter Story". As I had the original subtitles from the DVD version I was able to spend the last two days getting it translated to YouTube's captioning system. This should answer an immediate need for people with auditory processing difficulties and hearing loss, and as a bonus using the new "Translate Captions" function the captions can be translated into many different languages (probably not perfectly, but it's a start).

  • Thanks for putting this up. watched the film many times over the course of my life but could never find this documentary. I have wanted to watch this ever since first seeing the movie and must say I found it hard to fight the tears at the end. Such a wonderful man who finally recieved the happiness and respect he deserved.

  • Did not expect to watch this all the way through. Wonderful story. Thank you for making this.

  • We're all connected, therefore nterdependent. Most importantly, we're only capable of loving and being loved.

  • Such a great story! It proves that kindness and friendship trumps all obstacles. People can choose to welcome and embrace others with disabilities. Attitudes of society are the real barriers, once we get around that everything is possible. Let's hope there are many more people in the world that will take the time to see others with disabilities in the same light, as those in Bill's life did. Everyone has gifts to give, they just need the right opportunities. This gives us hope.

  • Lovely story, just wonderful. I'm a special needs person who is mentally handicap with disability.

  • Beautiful.
