Tekkit Science 1 : Retrievulator Powered Factory

Brand new series! Before we start making our Insulated Wires factory, we explore the basic principles of using retrievers, retrievulators and automatic crafting tables (MkII) to make a highly scalable, modular, efficient, lag free and on-demand or 'Just in Time' factory in Tekkit.

What version of tekkit do you have in this vid?

The current version for Minecraft 1.2.5, which I think is 3.1.2

I have customised some of the textures but it's basically exactly the same.

Is there any way you could leave a world download for the factory tower? I'm trying to make one myself, but the items the tower is requesting sometimes gets an item over and puts it in another condenser in my material generator section. I've tried putting down chests at many places, but the items just skip them and ignore them.

I don't have control of the server so I can't do a world download I'm afraid.

But the trick is to have chests inbetween the sources of raw materials and the crafting rigs. Those chests do have to be closer to the crafting rigs than the raw material condensers. You've also got to make sure that there's a piece of standard pneumatic tubing between the overflow chest and the accelerator into the high speed tubes, otherwise they don't connect up properly, which could be the problem?

I'm addicted to redpower and the only on really that uses it on my server. Now I can finally automate redpower alloys ect. Subbed and I will be building this and the other factories.

Never thought of using magtubes, then again in the setup I built there wouldn't have been room, 17 retrievulators 16 automatic crafting tables and an odd condenser turning gold to diamond. The overspill was a nightmare at first but I learned a trick, an unpowered unconfigured retriever acts as a DEFAULT DESTINATION, so excess items should all get sent there and to make sure the overspill chest was always the closest source I used enderchests.
