Predating the Revolution by decades, Carlisle's traditional town square features ancient constructions including 2 18th-century churches and the Old Courthouse.
The town has seen many legendary visitors, including George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. Declaration of Independence signatory James Wilson was a long-time resident, and Confederate General Richard Ewell set the town ablaze on his way to the Battle of Gettysburg.
Revolutionary heroine Molly Pitcher is buried in the Old Graveyard, and the hauntingly beautiful Ashland Cemetary is the final resting place for many Gettysburg soldiers.

This is a nice commercial, but whoever put it together should know that the guy in that picture of James Wilson is *not* James Wilson! James Wilson was a hugely important American -- the man who literally wrote the bulk of the Constitution. But looked nothing like that -- he was a portly, glasses-wearing dude.
