Fellow '60s Surf and Garage fanatics:
This is my brand new P.L.H. original instrumental "Broken Surf
Board" taped live on April 16, 2010 at Mass. Ave. Wine Shoppe in Indianapolis, Indiana. My 1966 Farfisa Combo Compact never
sound better than last night! While it isn't practical to haul the Farfisa to all my shows, this time it was essential as I billed the concert as "Farfisa A Go Go: 90 Minutes of '60s Combo Organ Sounds". Featured was a tribute to Johnny & The Hurricanes ("Red River Rock" and "Beatnik Fly"). I also played "The
House Of The Rising Sun" by The Animals (who tie with
The Hollies as my favorite British Beat group!), the
Hawaiian standard "Aloha Oe" and two more P.L.H.
originals "Evening Subway" (reminiscent of "Night
Train") and "Edge Of The Glalaxy" (in the style of The
Marketts).
Sincerely,
Paul Hippensteel
The P.L.H. Organ-Izayshun
