I'm really glad you posted this. Of course, local practices can vary from parish to parish...jurisdiction to jurisdiction...but it's always seemed a bit odd to me that in some baptisms (especially adult baptisms for converts) people sometimes are baptized in their street clothes. I suppose practices such as these morph over the centuries. Still, my understanding is that in the early church, baptisms were done without any clothes at all. ICXC-NIKA!
