my favorite contestant in 7 years of idol. in fact, first time i heard her, i thought "what's this girl doing on idol?" she's so far and away in a different league than all the others, before or since....
she gave this song an understated sultriness that was the hallmark of the era of that song, so good job girl!

I think some transfers from video to dvd are green because of anti-copy technology. That happened with me when I used my old vcr into my new dvr - everything came out green! I bought a dvr with a built-in vcr and that didn't happen, but it also would not copy some of my programs after 20 seconds!

I'm Mexican and I love this song (in spanish) and I never thought a black girl could ever sing it the way she did. Awesome performance, Melinda!

Did you mean to respond to my comment? If so, Why are you defending her talent to me? It's clear that she is her magnificent talent, but I'm referring to her hairstyle, pearls, and "church dress" as her attempt at "sexy".

If you listen with your ears and not your eyes...can't you tell that Melinda is just a superlative and superior TALENT...she can sing 4-part acappella standards and then tear the roof off with her power and grace...that guy Blake was not anywhere near her talent level.

LOL ya gotta love her self deprecating "i'm so not sexy" comment....let's face it...it's part of her appeal and charm......of course she isn't hollywood pretty....she knows that....but would she really be an eyesore at the registry of motor vehicles.....i think not....people that hate on her "less than glamorous" looks calm down....she's already conceded she isn't sexy so why go there?....if she was carrying herself like she was some kinda sexpot....THEN it would be appropriate to knock her
