Tribute to the mighty Audi Sport Quattro E2, which when running on full boast could put out up to 550bhp making it the most powerful of the Group B Supercars. The E2 only ever won one rally though, the 1985 San Remo Rally. What a win though!! Walter Rohrl won the rally by nearly 7 minutes thrashing the oposition.

Video feautes footage from the 1985/86 WRC seasons, rallys are Manx, 1000 Lakes, San Remo, RAC, Monte Carlo and Portugal. Gran Turismo 5

  • Did you know that when journalists used to go for drives in the E2 with Walter Rohrl and the other drivers that some would black out for a few seconds due to the G-forces the E2 would create under acceleration. As there bodys just wer'nt physically used to it.

  • what an absolute monster of a car!

  • @Marvdogger enough said.

  • WRC IS FOR BOYS

GROUP B WAS FOR MEN !

  • @TupacX2Pak First of all I'm talking about the Rally technology not our lives technologies. & if I have to go back in that period of time(80's) I will go with no questions because that was a gold era for the cars. So quit talking and stop trying to change the subject-topic ;)

  • @MegaJCMartin94 Throw your computer out, burn down your house, give away all your clothes. Technology and evolution is for sissies, you're a real man, go back to the stone age. Dickhead accept change, the drivers didnt choose the regulations, they have no choice, nobody wanted the change except the FIA.

  • My mother caught me watching this.

  • Group B had some of my favorite boxy hatchbacks & compacts!

  • The S1 was not particularly popular with its drivers - the Quattro already had the engine ahead of the front axle and was nose heavy, the shortened wheelbase made things even worse. The cooling was moved to behind the rear axle to balance this, but in the end the cars had 2 heavy bits outside the axles, so while the weight bias might have been somewhat restored, it remained very difficult to control compared to its mid engined competitors.

  • Don't try to compare these cars with today's rally cars. Today's WRC is for sissies, These Group B monster are for real drivers.
