  • Could it be that they played this song with a touch of self-irony? Seeing that the band was in a really bad shape at this point with Topper out and the relationship between Mick, Joe and Paul was also quite inflamed?

  • @JoesRamone yeah i always thought about that too... this was the only tour they played it on, and this particular concert was six, or four, cant remeber, days before the very last gig of the clash with its three founding members.

  • Is this song about war? "Death or glory, it's just another story"

  • @Horaciow14 i think its talking about/to young bands. death or glory, just another story= most bands, sadly, even though they try their best and are reasonably talented, never really make it, and they have to choose between making it(glory) by selling themselves(death) or just forget about it, get a job in a supermarket or an office and get on with their lives. Very few bands really make it without any compromises.

  • well, it is.

  • @tylergray78210 this just means that u have never been to a Rammstein concert :D

  • @JoesRamone Isn't the whole song ironic? They were often joking about themselves and others in their lyrics.

  • Thank You Purojannu! I had no idea there was a live version of this anywhere. Being as I live in Houston, it makes it even closer to home from The Only Band That Matters, still!!!!!!

  • @tylergray78210 thats great to hear the clash were/are the best

  • @JoesRamone It's written with quite a bit of self irony from the start, so why not, heh?

  • @Airdrielegend it doesnt ound sound like it, but it is them
