NC Dance Theatre performed in Washington, D.C., June 15 & 16, 2010, during the Kennedy Center's Ballet Across America II. The Company presented Artistic Director Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux's "Shindig," featuring the Greasy Beans bluegrass band, as one of only nine dance companies invited to take part in Ballet Across America.

The Kennedy Center's Ballet Across America returns to the Opera House after a successful debut in 2008. The biannual program is an exploration of the breadth and depth of the art form, showcasing companies from across the nation. Tulsa Ballet, Christopher Wheeldon's Morphoses, Houston Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, Ballet Arizona, The Joffrey Ballet, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet and North Carolina Dance Theatre present three programs highlighting their talents and offering a wide range of music and choreography.
