i have been saying that for a long time...you should never go to great lengths, to try and hide the simple fact of...you make mistakes. no matter how bad the sound quality, you should still hear and feel what someone or a group of individuals were getting at.. alot of my old scatched up albums still sound great to me..cause the magic is still there..if something is great, it will always be great...

Well said. That's why so much of today's music sounds boring and mechanical after you hear the song once because there is nothing else in there to reveal it's self when you listen next time.
