At FOOMA JAPAN 2009, PPS exhibited the P-78 bean sheller, which it supplies to agricultural cooperatives.
This machine can shell raw or boiled soybeans, making it simple and safe for anyone to handle the labor-intensive task of shelling soybeans. The machine can greatly reduce the time and cost required for this task, by shelling as many beans as six people.
The moving parts of the machine are covered to ensure safety, and all the parts are made of stainless steel, for good hygiene and easy maintenance.
The machine costs 900,000 yen, and has already been released.

900,000 yen...I'd believe it. Machines like this are almost entirely hand assembled with great attention to precision and quality and are made to last a lifetime.

@Vultraz168 There is no need to be envious. I've seen a machine in an old barn in the south U.S. that was probably 50 years old, made by the farmer. The farmer no doubt got the idea from someone else. There's no telling how old this approach is.
