Wow man, this is one of the most musical flangers I've heard. I wonder why they discontinued all the 8 series reissue pedals. The only one they still make is the OD808.

Yeah, it was a great Flanger. Unforunately, I just sold it on Ebay a couple weeks ago.

i know this is a general question - but how would you say it measures up to a boss bf 2? and how does it behave with distortion ,say if i were going for a bauhaus style effect?

You know, I am not sure. I have never owned a Boss BF-2. I am sure the Boss is more focussed and digital sounding. The Maxon is more organic and warm with it being analog. But, like I said, I can't accurrately judge because I've never really tested the Boss flanger. Sorry.

you might want to check out the mxr flanger for the effect bauhaus uses. I use an FL-9 but I don't like it with overdrive very much. I haven't tried distortion.

I had a MXR Phaser a few years back. It was pretty nice, but wasn't quite what I was looking for. I've never checked out their flanger. I'll have to do that.
