Naja, offiziell hat sie ja noch keine Hymne, unsere EU, aber immerhin gilt die "Ode an die Freude" von Beethoven als Erkennungsmelodie.

Even though, the EU has no "real" anthem, the "Ode to Joy" by van Beethoven is mainly used when needing music to represent the EU.

  • @ScilusVacilius : Europe´s attempt to imitate the USA??? where did you see that? PS: unsubstantiated claims are something that is very American.

  • Wir dürfen für ganz europa zahlen, die idee ist gut aber an der umsetzung scheitert es

  • @eunoway ...someone who believes crazed conspiracies and takes the opinions of utter lunatics from outside the EU as the word of God...

  • @eunoway How is the EU taking over sovereignty? By you you'd think it was an hostile, outside, foreign force invading your country!

I haven't a clue what you're referring to, if anything, so please enlighten me. All I am seeing is someone paranoid and someone who, for some reason, hates the EU.

  • @millionaire1231 @millionaire1231 I perceive it, as it is now !!! But Now i am listening !! l have never been against a U.S.E.. ( just the present system )...but let there be a bill of rights and a constitution, that everybody can vote for !! Because i repeat at the moment the E.U stinks..it slowly takes sovereignty and Independence from everybody, like a thief in the night which is wrong !

  • @eunoway I don't quite think you grasp the whole 'Federal' concept... Though europe would be united, the British national anthem would still be sung, the flag would still be flown, and the people would still call themselves British, and the history and culture would still be there.

Take Texas in the USA for instance: has its own flag, culture and history...and the people there are 'Texan' as well as American.

A USE would be created through a constitution. You've perceived it to be something else

  • @millionaire1231 As i have said, in1976 Britain joined something called ...European economic community !! not the united states of Europe !! i simply say that if YOU want a U.S.of Europe, which must mean sovereign nations giving up their Independence to Brussels !! it should be voted for !! at the moment Brussels takes our Independence bit by bit...

  • @eunoway Of course! The EU is not the former Soviet Union here...it does not 'claim territory' from not-wanting civilians. The idea that the EU would not ask its members whether they wanted to join one country, is blatently ridiculous... It wouldn't work without the consent of every member for a start, so there would be no point in doing that from a logical point of view anyway... If you want 'real democracy', fight British proportional representation, not the EU, as nigelelsass rightly said. :)

  • @ScilusVacilius What Masters Degree is behind you making that comment? Because, any economist will tell you, the economic climate would easily be revived by the creation of a Federal Europe- which would simply be a small step from the ALREADY ESTABLISHED FEDERALISM. Look at all we have: EU laws, an integrated military research facility, a joint space project, Euro-soldiers, the largest recognised GDP in the world...I could go on... We are already what you so naively claim we are not XD
