Whoa this is an old comment...but I'll comment anyways: Accessible? Dang. I'm playing Liszt Transcendental Etude 10 right now, and I have to say that piece is a joke compared to this or something. The fingerwork for the right hand is just completely insane.
"Did anyone notice" the loss of sound?! savaj0, seriously, I go on youtube regularly, and yours is the most obvious comment I've ever read!! Well done!
If you like Medtner, I think Marc-André Hamelin's performances are the best. The complete piano sonatas are available on Hyperion played by him. I can't stop listening!
a stunning performance none-the-less. He must have missed something out because on average it lasts 10mins. But who cares! This is incredible. Thanks for it!
Yes, the performance is short - just before the sound cuts out Wild takes a wrong turning and I suspect that the sound conveniently returns once he is safely back on track. However, I agree that the portionss we do hear are very finely managed. Memory is fallible even at the highest level!
what deal? being a classical pianist has nothing to do with acting like a stereotypical hip-hop star. And stunning as it is, rap can actually be music. Thanks for being a snooty pianist.
