@dmoney69696969 Feminism isn't about choosing sides - you don't have to choose between women's rights and men's rights, it's not one or the other. And anyone who says otherwise is either misinformed or an ignorant arsehole :)
-
@dmoney69696969 You really don't seem to undersand what feminism is.. It is NOT about claiming that women are better than men or that men have it all good, it is the belief in women's rights. We know that there are many problems facing men, too, and, despite what you believe, we do want to fix them too - that's just not called feminism, because feminism is when it's focused on women. I am many other things, not just a feminist. And whoever said I wasn't a humanist?
-
@insectsinmyclothes (cont) everyone should be equal. The title simply doesn't fit. You'd be a humanist. Men are unequal to women in some social situations yet I don't see too many feminists protesting or trying to fix the inequality when it comes to that.

@dmoney69696969 - carried out by women, and they produced the result that women have higher IQs.

@dmoney69696969 But you defeated yourself when you said "I'd seriously question who did them (mostly/all men, as far as I can tell)". What happened to being against all forms of sexism? lol. I wasn't saying anything sexist, I as simply saying that it's a factor to consider - it is quite possible that, as men, they would be more motivated to get the result that they got. I'm not saying that that's the case, though it is a possibility. The same would go if these studies were all -

@insectsinmyclothes (cont) You didn't say "were these people qualified to conduct scientific studies" or anything that would actually matter at first. You went straight to "was it all men". As if men are not able to see past their egos and give an honest answer. And the reason I said that if you truly are against all forms of sexism then using the title feminist isn't right because you're already choosing sides. That's like if I called myself a masculinist and said
-
@insectsinmyclothes I said the IQ doesn't mean much anyway. It has hardly any bearing on anything. I don't think it's a good reason to do anything. I just used it as an example of inequality. You didn't say at first that by "women are equal to men" you were only talking about being socially equal. But you defeated yourself when you said "I'd seriously question who did them (mostly/all men, as far as I can tell". What happened to being against all forms of sexism? lol

@dmoney69696969 Anway, what is intelligence? Is it academic? Physical? Social? Artistic?
Also, "In any event, if you truly are against all forms of sexism then it seems to me that calling yourself a feminist isn't the right title." you seem to have missed the point :( Feminism really isn't about man hating. Have a nice day.
-
@dmoney69696969 - intelligence anyway, but a test of how well people cope with certain things. Besides, even if women actually were on average slightly less intelligent than men, do you seriously think that that's a good reason to discriminate against them? In that case all men who are slightly less intelligent than say, a certain person, would then be discriminated against. And what about the women who are more intelligent than the average woman?
-
@dmoney69696969 Now regarding your studies claiming that men are more intelligent, I'd seriously question who did them (mostly/all men, as far as I can tell so far. It actually mostly seems to be the same study that's just reffered to a lot, but I'm still looking into it), how they were done, how many variables/people were used etc. And IQ tests are for the most part useless - the results for one vary enormously depending on the individual test taken, and they are not a true test of -
