Jay, you are indeed a talented drummer! At your age, and with continued playing experience, you will become the Buddy Rich of the 21st Century! I've taught hundreds of drummers over the years and you would be one of the ten best if you were my student. Kudos to your teacher and to you for being so good! BTW I wrote "2040's Sortie" for contests and won lst prize in every single one I entered. But I always practiced hours daily. You should practice daily and work on left hand. Alan Abel, composer

half of u people couldnt play this solo if u tried, im an all state snare drummer and this would be difficult for me.

Very nice! The only problem is playing spot. Needs to stay a little further from the inside of the drum. Other then that wonderful job!

what kinda sticks?

great playing. but always remember that you never play in the center on a concert snare drum. unless the music asks for. its always a third away from the edge. the drum doesnt ring when you play in the center and you wont get a good quality sound out of it. but good job man. i know your really young. but dont let the bad habits ruin your great playing

seems like those flams are hard to play

You're so talented! I'm about to be a junior in high school & I play snare, and I think this would be difficult for me XD

That is sooo easy to play. I had to play that at a concert for christmas

@drumpopper97 I'm a lot older than Jay and it looks like I have some catching up to do!

This kid hsould be in Phantom Regiment.
8th grade level solo in 6th grade? pretty beast. this kid deserves a beastly snare drum!

@minimeiskool This solo is beyond a typical 8th grade level (as in school year) solo. It would actually be appropriate for an advanced high school player, or even as a basic snare solo for a typical college audition. At tempo and with the dynamics, this is a challenging solo.

This was actually during the Spring or Summer after his 6th grade year, but before starting 7th grade. He was 12 when this was shot.
