I am a cellist and can I say that what he is doing is extremely difficult and requires and incredible amount of concentration and unbelievable technical control of the instrument. Queyras is probably the most refined cellist of the modern age and has a wonderful open mind and plays music from such and incredible range of composers. His playing of Bach and Schubert is so incredibly pure. This piece is played with the same level of sophistication and understanding. Incredible refinement. Bravo!

Many who ever says this is art is crazy. Comparing this to art is like saying Yoko Ono is art. Ahahahaha Ah Aha aaaaaa!! (Singing)

Oh my gosh how is this great. My 3 year old nephew can play better than this. I don't care if its technique or Talent. This sounds absolutely awful. And I think his cello is broken. Or maybe it broke after that. I really love some of his other work but this is ... never mind words cant explain. I couldn't stop laughing.

Stumbled across this while looking for Bach cello suites. Not really to my taste - in fact I spent the first 30 seconds wondering when he was going to start!

Bloody awesome.
I love the addition of a Harpsichord in the background.

Jean-Guihen = one of the absolute best cellist today's cello community has to offer along with Gavirel Lipkind, Truls Mork and a couple of others...
