LOL! I've thought about the 'applying to YouTube' aspect and maybe I wouldn't tell them in case they see my (alleged) copyright violations!

I'm the same really. I don't hide that I'm on YT, but I think only my sister could find me in a hurry here. I could count on one hand the number of RL friends I've given the link to.
The 'broad horizons' interaction aspect is one of the biggest appeals. I travel a lot anyway, so I'm always interested in what people from other countries think about stuff. The downside is I don't know many of the Australian YTers, but that was fixed last weekend at the Sydney Gathering!

Crazy as this sounds, only my brother and THREE of my friends know my YouTube address. Remaining anonymous and interacting with people that don't live around me is what I like about it, because there are no preconceived notions about any of us and we can be ourselves. Very interesting concept, isn't it?
I did put 'I enjoy the community of poets on YouTube' in the biog with a manuscript I submitted recently. The publishers rejected the book. Read into that what you will!

LOL! In my experience of publishers, they reject things just for the sport of it. The best books in the world get rejected many times before someone actually pays attention to them. You may detect a note of cynicism about the industry! I'd like to think they have nothing against YouTubers, but - well - you never know...

This is a good question some ppl i work with know of my yt,but no one in management and it will stay that way because i like to keep work and personal life separate. If though i were going for a job that i thought i might not get in the first place but still wanted to try for i might throw it in just to see if it peeked there interest. But i can see how it would be great for some on here.

I like that balance. Where 'work friends' become 'real friends' or close to it, then it makes sense. As for management, none of their business. For a random thing at an interview, I'd be very curious as to their reaction.

My take on this is YouTube or any other websites are to be my alter ego, my cyber character... My CV has absolutely no connection with it. I recall meeting Russel Crowe and wife recently along with John McGrath (his high school buddy) and he is the opposite end of his screen persona as Gladiator or A Beautiful Mind. He's a down to earth larrikin!

Actually that's a very good point. Noone (sane) expects an actor to be like they are on the screen but they're allowed to be proud of their creativity. Why do people then see YT stuff and expect it to be an accurate reflection of the individual? There's no getting around the fact we all play a character to some degree on here even if it's unintentional.
LOL! Good star spotting too - I'm impressed!
