Vintage Nintendo running Midines in NESFX mode.

These are the default visualisations for the sounds you are hearing. NESFX seems to be state dependent, so it looks different every time you run the sequence. Both sound and video are from the NES.

Original music 'brinesta' by noggin, with a nod to a cover inspired by Smile Transylvania. Name that tune in the comments if you can catch it...

Filmed in the Red House basement, Anacortes, WA May 2010.
Thanks Sam for the NES and also thanks to the mysterious cameo.

  • can you harness the NES as a playable, live instrument, or only a plugin/virtual-instrument to create/produce music?

  • @TRAmPLdUNdRfOoT this is an actual nes producing the sound and visuals. nothing virtual going on. i play live with the nes frequently.
