"Wickenburg - Prescott - Jerome"

This is Part 3 of the group ride from Wickenburg, up Yarnell Hill, thru "the Spars" into Prescott, up Mingus Mountain and into Jerome

Mingus Mountain: Highway 89a has got to be one of the most scenic in Arizona, and very popular too. It's about 10 miles of twisty roads draped across the face of hte mountain, with the small mining town of Jerome hugging the north face

My first time on this stretch of road, and though most of the road was well paved, the descent into Jerome was a bit bumpy. Despite getting stuck behind slower cars, I tried to keep up with 2 of the faster in our group. The combination of unfamiliar roads, downhill riding, bumpy pavement and my nervousness lead to a very tense rider, not relaxed and what could have been a VERY BAD corner on my part. Lucky for me, no one was coming the other way !!

But despite the potentially bad mishap, this road too is still amazing fun.

  • gorgeous country.. do you see many bicycles between Prescott and Jerome?

  • @skoockum Not a lot, but maybe 5 or 6 when I do. I've been up that way many times, on the motorcycle and by car, and I see bicycles about half of the time.

  • Dont feel bad I felt the same way.Just was there riding with my dad. We did that mountain twice last week and was a little nervus myself..But it was a AWESOME RIDE.

  • @dreamersliveforever Thanks. My confidence has increased considerably in the last 2 months or so. And you're right... it is an AWESOME ride !!

  • I've watched a fair number of motovlogs now and I have to say that this split screen you've used is probably the best I've seen. The helmet cam gave a completely different perspective than the tank mounted cam, I found myself watching sections a second time to make sure I got both views. Really liked your info blurbs, short and sweet but helpful. I like videos from someone at my own riding level, keep ones like this coming!

  • @Baggahammers Thanks so much, that's a really nice thing to say, and I really appreciate the positive feedback. I've said it before, that I stole the split screen idea from Downshift83, but it is something I want to keep playing with.

Sorry to hear you're at my riding level (hahahaa) but no worries, we'll both improve :-)

    LOL

  • @emptym01 ah fair enough :) would be annoying if you think your recording but your not, that would be a bummer >.< lol

  • @DJCipster4BREAKS LOL - I had to re-watched that bit, and I did see you look over the edge, and then swing from the right to the left side of the lane - hahahaaa

  • @Fuzion180 LOL - that really did seem to be my catchphrase that day - but it was also the first time i used that camera on a vlog, so still getting used to turning it on while riding and being able to tell when it's on and recording.

  • "i think im recording, i dont know" lol lovin' the views, great vid man. Good luck with the practicing, keep it up :)
