as weird as it is, i feel that drizzt is a good example of the good in every person. Through tough trials, he proved to overcome his bad up-raising, and in turn, made the flawless hero. Fantasy stories will be hard pressed to weave the story as it is done in this series. every book with drizzt in it is ultra badass. word to yo motha...

Don't forget though that with LOTR you were missing almost all of the backstory from the silmarillion, and about half of the book was gutted from the movie since it was deemed irrelevant to the main story. I mean, where the fuck was tom bombadil? WHERE?

@ICPjug90 Tom Bomdadil, physically,wasn't in either of the films. But, in the extended version of The Two Towers, there is a deleted scene where Treebeard rescues Merry and Pippin from the Old Willow and sites one of Bombadil's lyrics that were sung to the Hobbits in the actual book. So Peter Jackson and his crew did at least have the heart to incorporate him into the trilogy without it ever feeling misplaced or random.

@nolooloo3 Everything that you said was true. What's very interesting is that R.A. Salvatore is bringing Drizzt further from his beliefs in the next upcoming novel, where he starts to question his loyalties and beliefs. It should prove to be an excellent quandry for a character such as Drizzt.
