Here's something new: a German invention to prevent men from standing up when being on the toilet. :) But also as a little treat I decided to add the latter part of the toilet topic, where Sean tells us about his idea of taking his glasses off during long toilet visits - something that doesn't always work according to plan. :D

(the clips are taken from the second compilation episode on the G series / Series G, and was recorded for the "Germany" episode.)

I do not own the rights to the clip.

  • Talk about emasculation.

  • @CullTheLivingFlower Aargh, I know you are sort of right, but for some reason it doesn't seem right to me. Either I'm to female or to german about it :-p

  • @DasNutellamaedchen Well cleaning up the urine is a given, but the seat's position is irrelevant. If you want it down, put it down yourself. Just like if I want it up I have to lift it up. Simple and fair.

  • @CullTheLivingFlower Well, I don't know your toilet habits, but in my experience men are not able to pee without spilling drops of urine everywhere and not wiping it clean. Letting the seat up is not so much a problem, but the drops are. Also, to women the image of the seat standing up just doesn't look right. For us the seat is supposed to be where the arse is.

  • @DasNutellamaedchen What the fuck are you talking about? How is leaving the toilet seat up any more 'leaving a mess' than leaving it down? If the seat is up and a woman comes in, puts it down and leaves without putting it up again, why isn't she 'leaving a mess?'

  • @CullTheLivingFlower It's just rude to leave a mess when you have finished. Why should someone else clean after you, considering you're not a dog?

  • Knowing our calibre in the UK those lil' "seat-talkers" would probs be pissed on.

  • If the comment "sometimes i sit there for 10 or 15 minutes" got a "good lord" from stephen fry i wonder what he thinks about my hour long toilet sessions...

  • @CullTheLivingFlower Personally, I see it as whose house/flat you're at. If a woman is the owner of a house/flat, then put the seat down out of courtesy. If a man owns the flat/house, then feel free to leave the seat up. Not sure about mixed company, can't say any of my friends own a flat jointly with another gender.

  • Can someone explain to me why men are supposed to put the seat down? A man is supposed to come into the toilet, lift the seat up, do his business, and the put it down as well, becuase the woman can't be arsed to simply put it down herself? It should be that I put it up, and you put it down. We each move it once and it's totally fair that way. Having men move the toilet seat twice so that women don't have to do it once is totally unfair.
