Kawasaki KH100-EX-G8 (with Yamaha RD350 racing drops) doing 65 (average) -75mph (peak) around Blackpool. Appologies for the quality, YouTube enlarges the video hence it being low quality and "slow", if viewed on a Nokia 6230 you get a better idea of the speed this tiny two stroke can do.

  • i bought a brand new kh100 in 1989 (F reg) was nice, but later i bought the KH125 in 1990 (H Reg) that was far better in every way

  • Yeah I would have liked the 125 or better the 400 :-D Got an MZ though now - loving it!!!

  • Wow, what did you do to make it go like that?

I own a KC100 caféracer, which has the same engine (stock) but it's not that performing.

  • pulled the carb to bits and attacked it with carb cleaner and an air compressor, washed the air filter with petrol (dried it in the sun), got the air mixture idol screw set just right, new B8ES plug, synthetic 2 stroke oil on flat smooth roads on a day when it was not windy, might get a little more speed if I wack a new clutch in it because this ones a little (well quite) slippy.

  • hahaa nice i have a honda MT-5 enduro with a kh100 engine dropped in it, goes like shit off a shovel but recently it wont start properly and when it does it struggles then dies, cleaned carb, done the settings screws, checked coil pack and spark, cleaned barrel and piston and it still wont go again, any ideas? oh yea when it does start it splutters and sumtimes makes a big bang like backfiring, i mix the 2-stroke in a bottle then put it into the tank dnt think that would make a difference though

  • as far as i can remember the kc 100 carb has slightly smaller bore an smaller main jet a carb off the kh 100 will fit on a kc 100 correct points timing is essential too i remember owning a kh 100 back in 1987 and removing 2mm from the top side of the exhaust port and polishing it to improve performance. The stock exhaust gave better midrange than top end power used a micron pipe from a x5 200 suzuki and increased the main jet size to the next one up loved the kh 100 very reliable bike.

  • i own a kh 100 ex g8 i was just wonder how many screw turns did you do for the idle screw because iv tryed various settings to get it running smoothly but it either strugles on performance and moves slow but idles good or it runs with a good performance but conks out when idleing got any ideas

    thanks keith

  • I had a new one in 87 (last D reg in july as i couldn't wait till august for an E) any how it will do 76mph when completely stock & the only 100 to beat it is the old Yamaha rxs100 that will almost do 80mph. The GP100 was quick but a little bit heavier but performed good with a micron,K&N & re jetted

  • i got a kh125

  • Still got the kwaki? i bought myself a KH100 EX G8 a few weeks ago, fun little bikes lol

  • they recommend you use B8HS plugs, what is the big difference between the h and e? i know the 8 stands for the heat range.
