@deathbox75 Motorhead were pioneers in speed metal, which was a very close sister genre to thrash. Some say they were the first, but really, Exodus, Metallica, and Slayer were among the first self-identifying thrash metal bands.

All the bands you listed were still decently popular but yeah they were never as big as Slayer. Slayer deserved all the success they got though, they released so many classic albums and they were not only a huge influence on the bands you listed but thrash as a whole and they also had a huge influence on death metal. Its honestly really annoying how people hate on Slayer just for being popular (not talking about you but a lot of people do)

Steve DiGiorgio's bass work is amazing. Especially the part from 2:27 to 2:43.
