@TFABMN Well, depending on what you mean by that (I can't tell, it's the internet and meaning often gets lost in typing), there were still some metal canteens in circulation early on, usually by the USMC, or in the pre-Da Nang landing era, US military advisors in Vietnam (including my grandfather, MACV Advisor to the ARVN 64-65) had the old metal canteens. But if you mean by that that you're a vet and that's all your unit had, then completely disregard the above post.
