I agree with both of these statements.... 70's bands that were ahead of their time are the greatest. eg. PENTAGRAM took them 20 years to get to the 90's but they sounded like the 90's in 1972! Check out 1972 recording of be forewarned it is epic!!!

As long as an artist writes something that epic, the music "style" will never matter if ur a friend of music.As to why Anathema changed from "doom metal", or w/e u call Serenades, then i guess they thought that more ppl can understand soft core than metal.U can write a song in many ways and it will still have the same basic meaning.Same way u can express anger through tears or sadness through rage. Anathemas music has always been TRUE.Respect.
