Sandwiched between his early days with the hard rock band Dust and later punk fame with The Voidoids and Ramones, drummer Marc Bell (aka Marky Ramone) recorded this one-off record with the short-lived Estus.
All I want to say is I saw these guys open a concert at the Paladium On 14th street for Wishbone Ash and BB King. We went for Wishbone who blew us away after these guy got us really going. BB King was last on the bill. We left half way through. Nothing against the BB King mind you. We were just too young and too fired up to shift gears. If you get my meaning. Now I wish someone would post the rest of this album. It's really a good set of songs+rock-n- roll music. DO IT.
I still have this album after all these years! I once played a concert with these guys with my old college band called Rag Weed at the Mercy High School gym in their hometown in Marshall, Mo.! Trust me these guys put on one ? of a live show way before they where signed by Columbia Records and had to add those other guys from New York City! lol I am also promoting the new cd by Thomas Nicholas and his new video on my web site at Bigranfeuers.? Just in case you would like to hear them!
You are right Blynnk1956! Tom and John Nicholas as well as drummer Wayne Woods where all from Marshall, Missouri! Thomas Nicholas has a new cd out with Gibson Records
If any of this is wrong I hope someone corrects it. I saw Estus first as a 3 man band in the town where I went to high school before this album was recorded. Tom Nicholas is on the left and his brother John is next to him. I think John played with Quicksilver Messenger Service after this album. The drummer before Marc Bell, (Marky Ramone) was Wayne Woods if I remember correctly. Yes it brings back some memories.
Hard to think marky ramone is in that pictue playing drums in 1973....Saw the guy a couple weeks ago in Marky Ramones Blitzkrieg.....His musical stylehas changed over the years quite alot;

I hardly believe I found this. These guys came from the town where I went to high school. I would sometimes hear them on Beaker Street.
