POISONED PATRIOTS II

CBS 2s Investigation Poisoned Patriots is making new progress in the fight for veterans. CBS 2 exposed a problem hardly anyone knew about until now. Now, Senators are getting wind of the problem that is possibly killing many Iowa veterans.
Our investigation showed thousands of veterans were exposed to poison in the water while serving at a Marine Corps base in North Carolina. The base is Camp Lejeune. The contamination came from dry cleaning facilities leaking chemicals used to get out grease stains. Many veterans who were stationed at Lejeune say the government is trying to cover up the contamination and has been for years. Veterans and their families say they are now dying because of the contamination and yet they are denied full VA benefits.
Senator Tom Harkin says he will now co-sponsor a bill to help poisoned veterans. Senator Harkin joins Senator Chuck Grassley co-sponsoring the bill called The Caring for Camp Lejeune Veterans Act of 2009. If passed the Marine Corps will have no choice but to provide their Poisoned Patriots the medical care they need.
