No time for ceasefire: time yet for surrender - President

We have at no time gone for a ceasefire. We will not do so now. There is no time for that now. In the five or six days remaining we have given the opportunity for the LTTE to lay down their arms and surrender to the Armed Forces and, even in the name of God, free the civilians held by them. If they have no regard for their own lives they should even consider the lives of others.

So said President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the 50th Anniversary of the commissioning of the Chandrikawewa at Embilipitiya, today (30).

All television channels of the world are now directed towards Sri Lanka. With satellite technology the whole world can now see how the LTTE uses tanks to fire at the Tamil people fleeing from them. Of what need special observers to know of this? Why do we need special representatives to study this? This is known the world over, the President said.

  • @lavania1919 HE IS NOT UGLY.. THATS TAMILS.. UGLY BLACK BITCHES .. MY DOG EVEN WIL REFUSE TO FUCK TAMILS COZ THEY R SO UGLY..

  • Basically my point is this. A president does not need the desires of the people as a priority in order to be president. In this village money runs the show. Your country is small, and the government relatively young. It is important that someone, somewhere, starts off on the right foot. I believe this is the goal of the LTTE. I believe that it is common knowledge that the LTTE wishes to bring down the government, but I fear the knowledge of their reasoning is not as common.

  • When you say 'those countries,' it is unclear whether you are talking about the government or the people. They are 2 seperate entities. The people have no control over the affairs of the country. That's "the governments job." The peoples job is to make sure the government is acting according to the wishes of the people. But when the people have no wishes, no demands, the government does what it wants. The world is now a villiage, where everyone knows everyone, and everything is becoming the same

  • fuck this ugly bastard..feel like shitting on hes face...fucking animal..even a monkey is better looking than this shit face.rajafucksaaaaa

  • I've always been so proud and amazed by buddhist teachings.. but lately i've been astonished and surprised by how some buddhists have been against everything that buddhism stands for.. quite sad actually!

  • I cant recall a day in my life (born in 79), without having the headache of civil war in our country. I have witnessed two bombs in Colombo right in front of my eyes. Hope this will never happen again and we can now live peacefully at last.

We congratulate President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Sri Lankan Security Forces for defeating terrorism. We honour the sacrifice of all Security Force Members who have lost their lives for this cause.

  • go die mahinda poo poo
