The 2011 NEUVSA-5 leadership and cultural conference titled "BRIDGING THE GAP: Leadership -- Networking -- Culture" is hosted by the Vietnamese Student Association at Rutgers University, New Jersey. The main purpose of this year's theme is to promote leadership and networking skills, as well as Vietnamese culture awareness to the young generation of Vietnamese Americans. As young adults, there are many important sets of personal and professional skills that one ought to possess before setting off to any career destination. Yet at the same time, it is also very important for us, the young generation of Vietnamese Americans, to be aware of the Vietnamese blood that we are carrying, and to be proud of the culture where we came from -- the Vietnamese culture. Through this conference, we hope to empower the young Vietnamese Americans while using this as an opportunity to unite the many Vietnamese Student Associations in the Northeast region.
