Somewhere in Southern California is Jay Leno's 17,000 square-foot Big Dog Garage. Spread across two low-slung buildings cooked by the sun, it is one of the world's great car collections and one of the world's best-equipped garages custom-built from the ground up to keep everything running in tip-top shape. As a whole, the collection spans 100 years of automotive history. Check out the cars and share yours at jaylenosgarage.com.

  • Fantastic looking automobile

  • @cobraopts7 the engine was given to him by GM, it's a concept engine not even in production. and your 425 super rocket has nothin on it. this engine GM made is a small block V8 twin turbo, producing 1076 HP. absolutely phenomenal, unbelievable engineering. that's why he used that engine

  • Going by the posts here I believe Jay took the help from GM in the form of the engine because naturally he's saving money, however a diesel block 400 plus cubic inch turbo (not unlike this) could have been done but would have cost and the time factor has to be considered of all the work to turn it into RWD. Nevertheless if you asked me to pick any car in the world to own, well............

  • @LeBaronES A hoarder doesn't use the things they hoard, they just collect them because they can't help themselves. Jay collects, restores, rebuilds, AND drives everything in his garage. That is not hoarding. It is collecting at its finest. Most high buck collector cars rarely if ever get driven and Jay has some of the rarest and they DO get driven like they were meant to be so everyone can enjoy them. That is what makes him stand out among collectors. A hoarder keeps them under cover

  • When i was 25. (1994) I bought a 1970 toronado gt from a guy who just didn't want it anymore for $600. I had no ideal it was a rare car and only 5,000+ made. I traded it to a guy who kept bugging me for it for an engine that didn't even run. Today i realize my mistake.

  • AWESOME video! -getting to hear about infighting & competitive *sibling* rivalry inside of GM in the 60's! There is some notable automotive History! Yah, & what a miracle that the initial design of a great style made it to production W/O committee MUCKING/ RUIN. Big Times THANKS for being able to watch this.

  • @cobraopts7 its all gm lol..............

  • a 425 super rocket would have made an exellent platform why did he go with a chevy a engine is the heart and sole of a car all they did was make a olds into a chevy

  • Jay, that Toronado has got to be one of the best GM cars in your garage- and to bring one of the original designers into 'Jay Leno's Garage' is icing on the cake!

  • aboutnthe only other car I can really think of in this vein is 64,65, Buick Riviera,

My Dad had one whan i was 5 yr's old, it had the soft fabric cloth on the seat's, and

chewing bubble gumin the back seat's,dropped a piece on the seats, bubble gum is impossible to get out of fine fabric,

what a sweet looking car though,

egg crate grille, and retractable light's on the front corner's, really cool,

nothing else out there like it.
