Now back in 1927 an American socialist, Norman Thomas, six times candidate for president on the Socialist Party ticket, said the American people would never vote for socialism. But he said under the name of liberalism the American people would adopt every fragment of the socialist program. There are many ways in which our government has invaded the free precincts of private citizens, method of earning a living; our government is in business to the extent of owning more than 19,000 businesses covering 47 different lines of activity. This amounts to 1/5th of the total industrial capacity of the United States.

Medical program (disguised as a 'humanitarian program') to provide healthcare for all Americans. What a disgusting idea! What evil mind could conceive of such lunatic treason? We will never tolerate this socialist idiocy! We should let our fellow citizens die of treatable diseases, if they so choose, cause it is their choice alone not to have enough money. It really is – more or less – the marriage of the two; thus, the interaction &/or merging of federal & corporate power. For example, both Daimler-Benz & Henschel made a fortune, but they weren’t necessarily “threatened” to produce for the Reich made them offers they couldn’t refuse. Fascism isn't a merger. A merger implies willful compliance and shared outcome of both parties, and that is not the case under fascism. Companies don't have a choice. The only difference between communism and fascism is fascism gives the illusion of private ownership. Communists are at least open and honest about it.
