Cathy Fink playing "Miss McLeod's Reel" and "Coleman's March" during the banjo finals at the 2008 Appalachian String Band Music Festival in Clifftop, West Virginia.
Wonderful! You can keep an olympian calm by playing so beautiful and according so well together in a competition! I find this very well, and I find the pieces are together nostalgic and joyful!
I saw Cathy in Australia in the 1990s and I swear if I had seen her before I had gone down the Scrugg bluegrass route, I would been a clawhammer person for sure. Just so delicate and lovely.
