Scores of human rights activists who were arrested by police earlier on Thursday have been set free by a Nairobi court. The protesters were violently seized by police as they prepared for the demo against top ministry officials. The government is instead brushing off the crisis saying it has enough money to sustain the primary education programme. NTVs Rashid Ronald reports on this Christmas Eve.

  • this and other human civil are wrong and they will always be arrested so long as they continue to pursue their own interest. those who are really facing the effect of stolen money are not there. mass civil socities must educate those affected so as to join them in this kind of demonstration.

  • Where are the fucking 37 Million Kenyans??? Why are they not on the streets protesting?? Are they waiting for someone else to protest for them? If AND ONLY IF, 100,000 citizens flooded Nairobi streets and blocked all the roads, and do not cause violence - then indeed Kibaki would have acted. But here we have 20 people out of a population of 37 million!! What a shame!!

  • Mr. omutata goes cold turkey again. he needs university students to help throw stones to scare off these goons. Uhuru first give back your fathers stolen land to kenyans before you make your media PR stunts !!!!

  • Joy and Peace to all of youhh {kenyans on youtube} this season; wishing you only the best in 2010! it will be a great year!

  • I think our cops are the most ignorant members of the society. They get paid paeanuts and yet always allow themselves to be used against those fighting for their plight. Am damn sure that their kids are beneficiaries of free primary education as much they are losers when some leaders steal from the education kitty. The kitty should be expanded to include free civic eduacation for these baton wielding idiots.

  • Are the police not part of our society?? Kenya had the freedom of expression the last time i checked.

    Big up Mbunge la mwananchi.

  • Gov't is committed to stealing Thanks!
