Unlike France, Americans do not have the habit of drinking wine during meals.
Americans prefer sodas, beers and energy drinks. Most of the wine produced in the wine country CA, is exported or sold in outlet stores for cheap prices.

i would say the french is better, but thats just me.
I was in Napa valley a long time ago. Good wine indeed. and i'm french !!
