Oh god, I didn't know that Carol Channing was sitting next to him the whole time.

His accent change was hysterical. It really was a slow progression. Even had me thinking, "What's going on with his voice." Then, as soon as I got it I started to laugh hysterically. Damn, Kaufman is brilliant!

kind of like bob dylan where he gets his foot in the door, soon doesn't want to be predictably stifled or overly expected upon, stops giving a shit entirely about any aspect of the showbiz game/moves he made to get there, and most importantly has to give over even further to the artist's constant state of becoming. that's why andy is one of the best.
