Minecraft - Sunrise at Ennis House.mp4

Frank Lloyd Wright's Ennis House created in Minecraft. More videos coming soon.

House was created "block for block" as close as I could get with the photographs I found. Some areas were unclear in photos if photographed at all. House is 3x minecraft dimensions. Doors are six blocks tall instead of two. Thirteen textures created for textile blocks. Thirty additional "ice" blocks were created (that won't melt) for windows and doors. Not enough blocks to do window designs or the gate and iron work. Interior lighting by transparent "glowstone" . For interior and exterior views of the house, two models were created to allow for different block surfaces on walls and placement of windows. Single player control mod was used to control sun and turn off rain that has become a constant problem. House is so large the MC cam creates a lot of distortion. Thought I'ld never finish it, but I'm happy with the way it turned out. Hope you like it.

@yeahprimo Thank you. Music is Clair De Lune by Debussy. I remembered what a great sunrise peice it made for the end of Ocean's Eleven.

@h4mj4m Thanks. I won't be posting the world save do to the mod I created for the extra window blocks. There is no way to walk in and out of the house. I am making a "minecraft scale" version that will have working doors and require fewer window blocks. That model i will be glad to share, "Ennis Texture Pack" and all. I will be posting a walkthrough soon to give a better look at the house.

@Statarb1 Thank you for the comment. The environment, clouds, trees, etc. is all minecraft. Even the original sun is square. Minecraft is a survival game where everything is made from blocks, all one size. I work with highend software, but this simple game is a quick tool for modeling buildings or entire scenes, for fun only. I would like to do a more reallistic version with proper backdrop, but that could take months to finish. Take care.

Amazing stuff. I definitely know this house...but not Minecraft. My only suggestion would be- could you put in a few shots of LA in the background, and maybe drop the block tile clouds.
