Renault Koleos proves the theory that compact 4WDs can do the big trips. Fully fitted out for long term and long distance travelling, this Koleos did 17,000km around Australia from Sydney to Alice Springs, up the Tanami to the Bungles, around the Gibb River Rd in unseasonal wet season, down the west coast to Ningaloo, in to the Pilbara, down across the Nullarbor and up to Maree in horrendous wet weather (worst for 30 years). One flat tyre, 7.7l/100km fuel average, and a bloody good time had by all! ...except for seeing James Price Point for possibly the last time in pristine state - fight to stop the WA Gov't destroying this amazing place!
