Supporting nude Egyptian blogger Aliaa Elmahdi, 40 "Sisters in Israel" pose naked in group photo

A group of 40 Israeli women, the "Sisters in Israel," showed their support for young Egyptian blogger Aliaa Elmahdi by posing nude for a photograph. Their signs and banners in the group photo read "Show you are not afraid," "Love without limits," and "Homage to Aliaa Elmahdi. Sisters in Israel."

Elmahdi had already drawn the attention of millions by placing a naked photo of herself on her website. She said her provocative demonstration was to protest the oppression and limited freedom of women in Egypt.

Egypt has bigger problems than the alleged sexual hypocrisy of its leaders. While there is certainly mistreatment of women in the entire society, which IS a major problem and DOES need to be addressed, going naked on the internet will not expose it, nor does it offer any solutions for it.

A bigger problem is poverty, of course.
