@455Transam well back in 1979 when they first bought a stake in the company it was only 7% then up to 27% then after 1996 they had to raise their stake to 33% shortly after they got rid of the mazda president and appointed Henry Wallace as Mazda president and basically ever since then americans have run the company and this is why mazda is still in business, in the financial crisis of 2008 ford sold 20 percent of mazdas stakes back to mazda and currently ford owns 3 percent of mazda

@BrandonValiquette ford never owned mazda motors they owned 40 percent of the company at one point but mazda would never sell their company. currently ford owns 3% of mazda motors which can be bought out at any point but the 3% is just to justify mazda giving ford all its technology to produce better vehicles

@455Transam Eh you might be right. Its been awhile since If researched it and Im too lazy :) Either way, the Probe GT is a great car. Ive had my for 8 years and its never left me stranded. Ill drive this thing until the wheels fall off :)

@didgemonster I'm not positive but I don't think MAZDA ever owned and percentage of FORD.
