This guy obviously has no clue of what's going on. "To me, expression is always the most important aspect of music": well, duh, expression is inherent to music. And him saying that cutting-edge music is hostile... I mean, it might by hostile to a borderline mind like his, but a person in his position shouldn't say stupid shit like that.

I really like that "not letting go" idea of no breaks beetween movements I've always hear that in Mr, Rouse's music, but never really wondered why he did it.

my favorite living composer...his music is so incredible, it is still and always will be about tonality which makes great music not absolute chaos and a experimentation

i like his honesty, but what is the difference between gripping someone, getting their attention and making them angry, if can distinguish between the two, i don't think you can; Rouse's music provokes anger in all the things it refuses to be; committed to a larger humanistic, well OK
