Anton Bruckner - Locus iste

Sung by The Corydon Singers. Locus iste a Deo factus est, inaestimabile sacramentum, irreprehensibilis est. This place was made by God, an inestimably holy place. It is without blame.

My school choir recently sung this for our Advent service in Exeter Cathedral (for those who don't know - longest vaulted ceiling in Britain - bloomin' great acoustics). It was probably the most beautiful thing we've ever done.

Ah, what a glorious piece! My choir had the wonderful opportunity to sing this piece at the church at St. Florian's Priory. As some may know, Anton Bruckner was the organist there and also was buried beneath the organ when he passed. Some may even argue that this piece was about St. Florian's, though it was composed for the dedication of the Linz Cathedral. It's amazing to think about how I may have sung this piece in the place it was written about.

Not bad, but I was a bit irritated by the aspirated T:s - this is Latin, and should be sung plain. Otherwise, quite nice.

My choir sang this at the church by ground zero and we moved the crowd to tears. It was amazing.
