  • these guys look like the coolest people ever to be born

  • There is just something about this video. I can't put my finger on it. Not the best technically. In fact, not even close.

But the chemistry, the part where Serge looks at the guitarist and smiles. The Maltese falcon, the smoke, the bourbon.

    Ah, to LIVE!

  • Serge Gainsbourg (p), Elek Bacsik (g), Michel Gaudry (b) - All the things you are (boeuf jazz) 1964 RTBF

  • @TheEngarPresence when i listen to eroll garner, i can not share your point of view. anyway, this video is pure bless

  • I find it great!Let poor jazzygiord say every silly and spiteful nonsense he wants. Thanks for posting this wonderful video. Jeandel

  • Wow- you got to love the Catboy Serge and all his facets- this is thrillingly cool.

  • If I had passed by that bar and heard the music, I would have popped right in, sat down, had a beer and wondered if it would be possible for me to sit in for a jam...

  • @JazzyGiord Lol don't pretend you're a musician; your sense of music is almost non-existent. I'm sure you're one of those tards who've tried studying an instrument, horribly failed, yet still have a need to share their empty criticism. I have always had respect for different opinions, but the way you express yours is solely a sign that you are simply a wannabe; you try so hard fitting in with the real musicians, but your lack of knowledge and talent betrays you every step of the way.

  • *COUGH* *COUGH* *COUGH* People really did smoke that much back then. Well, the French still do!

  • @JazzyGiord Don't you think that music should be lived to the fullest? Something the ear can't do alone?

    Enjoy.

  • @JazzyGiord english not your first language? I am writing from the Correze in France. Nice to actually communicate, though. If it were Bill Evans then we could perhaps talk technique, but it's Gainsbourg playing jazz, so maybe it's more akin to attitude. Punk was cooler than Prog Rock as far as I'm concerned. Punk was not about technique...it was sheer attitude. That's what I like here. Idolatry is not the point.

  • @microdot Sorry, english is not my first language and I guess it's clear.I know who Gainsbourg is. If Bill Evans had composed a french pop song i would probably have typed the same comment. But he didn't. I just find all the comments down here incredibly exaggerated. Idolatry is not the way.
