800Mhz Kernel on GSM Palm Pre Running webOS 1 4 0

This is a short video crudely demonstrating the performance enhancement capabilities offered by the Modified Overclock Kernel (800Mhz) on webOS 1.4.0 (In development, will be released shortly).

- This is not indicative of Stock Performance.

- This is a True Overclock of the Palm Pre. Extensive testing performed and no danger observed yet! (from 80 Users) = Relatively safe

- Those with current Overclock Kernels on 1.3.5.x are advised NOT TO install on webOS 1.4.0, The kernels are different and are not designed to be interoperable, they will not work. Doing so will most likely cause Damage to your Pre. You have been warned.

I'd have to say that it's more of a calculated risk, especially since the OMAP processor natively runs at 800 Mhz (and Palm just underclocked it to 500).

If they were to increase the power of the next WebOS phone, what makes you think they wouldn't give it a better battery? Phones like the nexus one and the HD2 have plenty of battery life while running at 1GHz.
