In January 1994, Paul McCartney was given two tape cassettes by Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono that included home recordings of songs Lennon never completed or released commercially. The songs on the tape included the eventually completed and released “Free as a Bird” and “Real Love”, in addition to two other songs was a tape with the words “for Paul” scrawled hastily in John’s handwriting, which included “Grow Old With Me” and “Now and Then”.

@terrywest111 This is late but, you hear the buzz? it was hard for them to remove it and some verses needed to be added. that was the main reason but for george it must have been different.

I wonder if this was one of the songs they gave to the remaining Beatles back in the 90s for the Anthology.
I bet the others could have made a hell of a song out of what John left of this one.

This was one of the songs worked on by the Beatles during the Anthology, and I believe the story goes that after two days of working on it, George decided he didn't want to do it, so they never finished it.

i dont know. he also rejected Grow Old With Me, another one they considered for the Anthology, which is understandable because its a song about John's growing old.

Hmmm... that also sucks. I've always been of the belief that Grow Old With Me would have made a really good Beatles song.
